Star Wars on IMAX

Sunday, November 10th, 2002

Maggie, Sarah and I went to see Star Wars Episode II on the OMSI Imax dome (the same type of dome that is in the San Jose Tech Museum) last Wed.

It was really cool to see Big Flippin Yoda! However it was too big, and because the dome is wrap around, it didn’t work for the framing of a normal movie. The field of view was all screwy, and you found yourself turning your head to see stuff.

Essentially we did our own pan and scanning.

The sound was really good, and the space scenes ROCKED as the star field filled your entire FOV.

It is clear that if a movie is shot with the dome in mind, it would be awesome!

I still had a blast, big yoda just rules!

Microsoft Office may be too damned expensive and come from the evil empire, but the latest update to Office X (10.1.2) has improved application launch significantly!

So congratulations to the team!

Now, can you go beat on the Windows Media Player folks, please? Please?

I let my matchmaker account expire. Time to spend less effort dating and more effort on me. Where did I leave that mirror?

Domain Name Scam?

Tuesday, November 5th, 2002

I got a call from “National Doman Name Service” telling me changes were about to happen to some domains and mine might be affected, and did I want the infomration about how to protect my domain, I said no, I only deal with my registrar, and they hung up lol, sheesh, so I emailed my registar about it.

Has anyone heard anything like this?

Pathetic Media

CNN is trying to show their new “real vote” system, so as to predict better, due to 2000. Oh VNS does not trust their analysis of exit poll data, so no predicitions.

Ya know, just cut the crap out, wait until the votes are tallied, then report on the races! Stop making media stories so you have something to do!

How unresponsible to our country.

Attack of the IMAX clones

Sunday, November 3rd, 2002

Am going to see Star Wars Attack of the Clones on the IMAX screen this Wed! Whoot, 50 foot Yoda, officially dubbed BFY, or Big Flippin Yoda!

Yoda Man! Or muppet. Or ex-muppet.

I am such a geek sucker. Course I talked Maggie and Sarah into going as well!
