Apple does it again

Monday, January 31st, 2005

So Apple released new powerbooks today. Ok so they are a slight speed bump, and oh they contain Bluetooth 2.0 and oh they contain this new trackpad that with two fingers you can scroll around easily, but what is exciting is that they included new patented technology to sense when your powerbook has changed it’s axis or is accelerating and if it is, they park the hard disk before your machine takes a nose dive and scratches your disk, making it unusable.

How sweet is that?

Lame Best Buy story

Saturday, January 29th, 2005

This story is an example of a moron given a salesperson’s job. If he was around here I’d give him a tongue lashing or two!

Simply put, use your brain people, don’t trust these morons!

iTunes Tip

Friday, January 28th, 2005

Have you ever wanted to delete a song from a playlist and also have it be removed from your library? I have many times since downloading podcasts, so I googled it and, funny enough, found this iTunes shortcut list at Apple.

The answer: option-delete!

No more hunt and peck for me

Monday, January 24th, 2005

After years of trying to learn to touch type to only go back to hunt and peck subconsciously, I bought a truform. The keys are a little spongy, it crowds the mouse on my tray, but it serves the purpose I got it for, no more hand over hand hunt and pecking.

My typing is really slow now, but that will improve with practice.

Happy 21st birthday, Mac!

Episode #001 2005-01-20

Thursday, January 20th, 2005

I’m new to the podcasting scene. It seems people are broadcasting audio bits about whatever they are interested in, then including links to the mp3s in the RSS feeds. Aggregators, like iPodder, can then download the files and sync them into your iTunes, and thus iPod, for you to listen to!

So I decided to see what it would take to broadcast my own podcast and this post is a short, terse test. No fantastic information here. But if this works, then I think I will try to do more podcasts!

Cher is back, again!

Sunday, January 9th, 2005

Omg the bitch has me mad now. Two years ago I went to my first/last Cher concert (Cyndi rocked) which was her “Farewell” tour. I thought it would be cool to see her at her last concert here.

Well last year, she was back! Still saying farewell! Bleh!

Now she is back again! And has the audacity to now call her show the “Farewell never can say goodbye” tour!

I feel like Sonny.

Headed home tonight!

This holidays in Los Angeles was quite nice. I got back on track with work (but am still behind), I celebrated both my parent’s birthdays, which is a blessing.

XMAS Eve I was invited over to Pat’s annual xmas bash, which this year became bash on Pat for his mining in World of Warcraft haha. Is all good fun. It was good to see everyone, even Frank.

I saw my friend Leah from NY on XMAS night. Finding a place to get a drink was interesting, we ended up at the pier, mmm margis and guac!

I did a lot of shopping, went to Disneyland several times, once with my friend Laurie, who is uber sweet. Got some nice photos of the new castle!

I got to see my friends and their kids, William and Christie in San Diego. I love seeing them and I wish I could have seen them more – Time is short on these trips. I went to the San Diego Zoo and then had dinner with a blind date. Danica was charming, bright and I had a wonderful evening making a new friend.

New Years Eve was spent at Steve’s with the WoW gang. We talked WoW, made more fun of Pat with the “Missing” posters I made, watched Triumph the comic insult dog, part of Blazing Saddles until Steve’s DVD player could not take it anymore and then two Pink Panther films. In the middle of this we installed Panther on a clamshell iBook 366 and deduced that the Airport card slot is broken. Happy New Year!

Sunday was spent being lazy, playing some WoW. Now I am working on timed based events in Sophie and then it is back home.

And best of all, I was asked to be the Godfather <queue theme> of Matt and Roslynn’s child! I am terribly excited!

I look forward to meeting my new friends I made over the holidays and seeing old friends too. I don’t have any resolutions this year, other than to start making micro positive decisions and see if they lead to macro positive decisions.

I hope 2005 brings you all that your heart desires!

Souls

Saturday, January 1st, 2005

Energy can be a beautiful thing, we focus so much on the negative however. What happened to improving ourselves, our passions, our kinks, our tolerance. We focus this amazing energy on others, you must believe my religious views, or we will help your enemies. Or prevent you from marrying the person you love, simply because they share the same genitalia. So much energy goes into hatred, when it should be focused on improving ourselves. Imagine taking the energy from Jerry Springer and using it for one better decision, one less passive aggressive comment. Imagine that positive energy becoming one more explosive orgasm an orgasm of lust, of love, of kindness, of helping a stranger. Imagine that gift of positive energy then helping another. We don’t heal the world with bombs. We heal with the positive energy we allow ourselves to partake of. This year, this season, this energy. Love yourself. It will change the world.
