When did Amazon start sucking?

Saturday, April 29th, 2006

I am looking for Walter Moers’ “A wild ride through the night” in English. I found it on Amazon.de. Searching Amazon.com for 10 minutes and I find this edition but it is in German, I think. They don’t tell me but the title is.

Ok so I click “All Editions” and it gives me tons of other books? ok I press back and click on the link for “Walter Moers” and it shows me 9 books, which does not include the one I was just looking at?

So I went to powellsbooks.com, typed in Walter Moers, there it is, in trade paper. clikc that link and oh, in other formats too.

Amazon has become cluttered and hard to use, no, impossible it seems.

Hello from Canada!

Thursday, April 27th, 2006

Just a quick hello to say I’ve been in Canada all week. The weather has been gorgeous up until today. I have been working and fighting a cold - I think the cold won, but I feel rejuvenated now for this final push.

The cross of brands between countries is interesting here - I can buy Electrosol and Cliff Bars (at 2x the cost) but not cold-eze or theraflu.

iTunes South Park Bait and Switch

Friday, April 21st, 2006

Wow Apple just pulled a bait and switch.

When I ordered South Park Season 10, it said it included all episodes of Season 10. Now there is an asterik, that says Season 10b starts later in the year and is not included.

Time to complain.

Getting healthy

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

So its no new news that I have been working on my issues for a long time - Productivity, lack of sleep, self-judgementalism, etc, etc. I have a new therapist who is great and in a while, I’ll even have a nutritionist who will work on foods for what my body needs and exercise.

So, it is Easter Sunday. I don’t practice, but I thought what better day to resurrect myself and begin anew.

So I get out the iPod and walk 30 mins to Subway for a decent lunch. Closed, due to Easter. Great. Thanks a bunch.

Hiked home, now I’ll go have crappy fast food I guess. Everything else is closed.

Apple revises MacBook Pro

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

According to Daily Tech, Apple has now released 3 revisions of the MacBook Pro hardware. The latter having no known issues.

I am glad my order took so long and was BTO as I have W8612, the latest known version. I still think there are wifi issues with speed, reconnecting and very hot temperature issues however, but no whine.

You can check your serial # by choosing About This Mac and clicking on the “10.4.x” area twice (once to show the build of OS X, then the serial #)
