Columbian Mammoth - Mammuthus columbi - The Columbian mammoth was the commonest mammoth to live in North America during the Ice Age. Some mammoths from Rancho La Brea grew to a height of thirteen feet. This specimen is of average size, about fifteen thousand pounds in weight and twelve feet tall.
